Delcassian family statement

"About a month ago, a family friend notified us that authors Pat Marry and Robin Schiller had started a publicity campaign for “The Ice House Murder”, a book they had written about Irene White’s death and the 20 year search for justice.

We were shocked.

The book includes details from the investigation that even our family haven’t seen. It contains details about Irene’s family and her life that should be kept private, including information we considered was not in the public domain. We were devastated to find pictures of bloody footprints, diary extracts and parts of witness statements inside, possibly taken from investigative files. Launching the book for the 20th anniversary of Irene’s death is an additional blow.

We’re heartbroken the authors ignored our requests to stop publication.

Our family goal remains pursuing justice through the courts. The book release is irresponsible and insensitive. It may impact our legal options moving forward. At the very least, we hope the authors consider donating 100% of proceeds to Irene White's children.

As we’ve said before, our family believes there is more than enough evidence to take additional suspects to court either by way of a private prosecution or through civil claims. We’ve previously shared with the media our intention to continue our fight for justice for Irene, continuing the determined campaign led by our mother, Anne Delcassian (Irene’s sister) before her death. Our legal team are working hard behind the scenes.

We made a promise to our mother before she died, and we intend to keep it. She never gave up, and neither will we. We will continue to fight for justice through the courts, as we promised, until we exhaust every legal avenue.  If you’d like to get in touch or learn more about next steps in our case, contact us here."
